Taylor, TX

Yesterday I had the pleasure of making the short drive to Taylor, TX.

My wife and I decided to make the drive there because I had remembered driving through at night and that they had a nice old downtown. When we started to drive into town I wasn’t sure if I had remembered correctly, but then when we hit downtown I knew I was right.

We started to drive north on main and just north of downtown this house caught our eye .

So then we started exploring and it was incredible how many old Craftsman and Victorian homes were in this town. If you drive just west of main street you’ll find homes built anywhere from 1860 to 1940. Many of them have been restored but you can find some that you could restore yourself for a great price. More shopping in Downtown

Good News! Brooks Brothers is headed to downtown Austin, which downtown needs badly. I was a little disappointed that Apple didn’t keep its small retail store that they put in for SXSW and the iPad 2 release. After living downtown is was kind of sad you still had to drive to do almost anything besides going out and eating. Hopefully this is a sign more retailers will be moving in and it won’t be a complete ghost-town during the day.

Titaya’s Thai Cuisine

Went Titaya’s Thai Cuisine the other night for my birthday dinner and have to say I was very impressed. We had a decent size group and had no problems with the service. The food was everything I could ask for, even the picky eaters in the group enjoyed it. The only downside was having a big group they will only take 3 separate credit cards so make sure and have some cash if you decide to go with a larger group.

If you like Thai food or are with someone who has never tried it I would recommend going here.

Oklahoma City Weekend

Had a great trip to Oklahoma City this past weekend to celebrate a family members birthday. It was great getting everyone together and hanging out over the past couple of days.

I was able to celebrate my birthday a week early at Iguana Grill with my birthday twin Tory. Finally got to see Regan and Elanna it had been too long. Everyone else at the dinner it was great having you there, but I’m sure you were more there for Tory. Just kidding Roy.

Also went to the Conservatory to catch a couple of pretty good bands as well as have some drinks with Eric, Jessica, and Skye. It was nice to see some of the changes, but somethings could still be updated…

Sadly I have no pictures to show for it because I was having too much fun. So if any of you have any you would like to submit please do so.
